gstreamer1.0-packagekit software package provides GStreamer plugin to install codecs using PackageKit, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gstreamer1.0-packagekit
gstreamer1.0-packagekit is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gstreamer1.0-packagekit package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gstreamer1.0-packagekit *
You will get with gstreamer1.0-packagekit package name, version, architecture and description in a table
